Mountaineers return to Mueller Hut in the morning after an adventure in Aoraki/Mt. Cook National Park in the early winter season. Mt. Sefton, in the background, was cracking off blocks of ice all night.
This photo was taken while I was sitting on the snow waiting for a search and rescue helicopter to come pick me up after I thoroughly destroyed my knee skiing the early season conditions.
